On one of my recent walks I was later than usual getting out. I usually go out around 2 pm. This day I had a Lightning Process follow up phone consultation so I didn’t leave home until around 3.30 pm. This being February in London, the day was already beginning to draw in. But I was rewarded for my lateness by seeing the sun setting.
These photos are all taken looking West, towards the City of London. They are taken from my vantage point on the bridges that cross the Hereford Union Canal from Bow, which lead you into the vast green expanse that is Victoria Park.
As I had gone out late, I hadn’t taken my camera with me. I was intending on just doing a quick walk around the block, just to get some fresh air as I had been inside all day. So these pictures are taken on my iPhone 5. The clarity may not be as good as could be, had I taken them on my actual camera. But given they are 100% natural (#nofilter as the cool kids would say) I don’t think they’re too terrible. Not least because they show the warmth and brilliance of the sun which is always welcome in the midst of Winter in London.
And just to compare, here’s the canal in daylight, before sunset.
If you enjoyed this post of pictures, why not check out my walk in the park post and my winter sun post as well.
