I can get better.

I can recover.

YES I CAN, YES I CAN, YES I CAN.

I am going to KICK Β this ME / CFS.

I am bigger and better than it.

I am going to beat it.

It is not going to beat me.

I am going to get much, much, MUCH BETTER.

I am going to recover.

YES I AM, YES I AM, YES I AM.

*************************

And I will repeat this little mantra hundreds of times each day. I am going to print out these words and stick them up around my house so that every way I turn I will see that:

I AM GOING TO GET BETTER.

I AM GOING TO RECOVER.

YES I AM YES I AM YES I AM.

**************************

Recently, I seem to have lost a bit of my positive spirit. Not sure when or why or where it has gone. But it seems to have left me. But I’m not going to take it lying down. I want my positive glow, my hope, my optimism, my fight, back. I am going to get it back, hence my mantra in this post.

**************************

I can get better.

I can recover.

YES I CAN, YES I CAN, YES I CAN.

I am going to KICK this ME / CFS.

I am bigger and better than it.

I am going to beat it.

It is not going to beat me.

I am going to get much, much, MUCH BETTER.

I am going to recover.

YES I AM, YES I AM, YES I AM.

    Hi,

Who is the neurologist please ?

He sounds like an ideal person to contact about my son.

      Hi Gordon
Sorry for the slow reply, I wanted to check my specialist was happy for me to give out his details before replying. But I still haven’t heard back from him. I’m not sure but I seem to think he’s not taking on any more new patients. I’ll come back to you on it. In the meantime, are you in the UK? If so I would suggest contacting the ME Association or Action For ME as they hold up to date lists of pro ME doctors including neurologists. We found my specialist by my GP speaking with the MEA on my behalf.
I hope you can find some relief for your son.
      Best wishes
      Jess

Its perfectly natural for your positivity to go up and down with this condition. This is a great post that you can look back on during your down days. I am very positive generally but I do have my negative days too when it all gets on top of me. When I do I dont try to fight it, I will allow myself to wallow and come through it because sometimes its necessary (avoiding the emotions can sometimes lead to prolonging of the depression) and I always keep in mind I have good days too, and try to remember how far I have come from my worst days. I know my bad days are down to my own behaviour too (eating foods I know I am intolerant to) so its somehow easier to cope because of that. I have started a facebook page for positive quotes for ME people here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Surviving-ME-Quotes/185355048288675 Keep smiling, its entirely possible to get better and its always the people who believe they can which do. πŸ™‚

Thank you for your understanding supportive comment. I totally agree sometimes we need to wallow and let the sadness out. I will definitely check out your Facebook page, that sounds like a great idea.
